How to upgrade to v.3 safely

    Hi,

    I use a free version 2.9.5.6 of MarketPress and WordPress version 4.3.1. I havetried to upgrade to v.3. in usual way – through wordpress interface, but I did not work out – the plugin showed message “update successful” and “plugin is at its latest version”, but I then I see v. 2.9.5.6 shown there.

    The question is, how do I update to v.3 safely? If I delete this version and install new one, will I loose all products that have been uploaded up till now?

    MarketPress version 3.x is still not available as a free version. Are you looking to upgrade to premium? If you are please open a thread on WPMU DEV forum so we can take a look. This forum is for questions related to the free version of the plugin.

    How can I safely upgrade (manually) from version 2.6 to the latest free version without corrupting my store?

    Hey Tiaan,

    Hope you’re well today 🙂

    This seems to be a very old version of the plugin as the latest free version is 2.9.5.6 and there have been quite a few big updates in between those two versions.

    I’m not really sure what exactly are the differences between those two versions and since there have been at least more then 10 updates in between there is a possibility that something can go wrong.

    I’d advise updating it from the admin and strongly suggest that you make a full site backup just in case so you have a point to restore to.
