how to update .htaccess?

    hi I just want to know how to update my .htaccess? because I Customize Permalink Structure to http://mydomain/%postname%/ but it said You should update your .htaccess now.

    I tried to chromod to 777 then put /%postname%/ to Custom structure and update it then I back my .htaccess to chromod 644 but its not working im using version 2.3 what will I do?

    Try this. Temporarily, change location of your blog, by removing “.index.php” from end of blog location. Then update, and run the permamlink change again. Not completely sure WHY this works, but it worked for me. (You can change it back, by adding the “index.php” back, if you like.)
