I got the message “The EWWW Image Optimizer has detected excessive re-optimization of multiple images. Please turn on the Debugging setting, wait for approximately 12 hours, and then visit the Dynamic Image Debugging page.”

However, when I go to the settings page for EWWW, I don’t see any option to turn on the debugging setting. How do I do this?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Per https://wordpress.org/support/topic/stop-dont-post-here/ please use https://ewww.io/contact-us/
The debugging option is the second one down, right under the API key setting on the basic settings.

I think the confusing part is that none of these settings are available when you go to “Settings” -> “EWWW Image Optimizer” (i.e. to page: /wp-admin/options-general.php?page=ewww-image-optimizer%2Fewww-image-optimizer.php).

The only way to access the settings is to go to the “Plugins” page first, then click the “Settings” link under the EWWW Image Optimizer (i.e. this page: /wp-admin/network/settings.php?page=ewww-image-optimizer%2Fewww-image-optimizer.php).

This is very confusing. The settings should be available from the normal settings menu. You should not have to go to the plug-ins page first.

It sounds like it is because you are using multisite and have activated the plugin network-wide. That means the settings are in the Network Admin menu, not the individual site menu.

I see the potential for confusion there though, the single-site options should probably have a note that says something like “for all the rest of the settings, see the Network Admin dashboard.”

Yes, I assumed that as well. Ironically, I could not access the settings from the network admin dashboard. I had to go to the “Plugins” section of the individual site (not the network level), and then click the “Settings” link on the EWWW plugin. When I go to the “Plugins” section of the network admin dashboard, there is no “Settings” link on the EWWW plugin.

Please shoot me an email at https://ewww.io/contact-us/ so we can dig into that further.
