How do you / did you have your users subscribe to notifications in the first place?

Hi Steve,
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.
The site is a woocommerce wp site. It is for wholesale customers. When they signup/register, they are assigned the role of customer. We then change that role to wholesale when they are approved. It seems that any role is treated as a subscriber and when we publish a ‘post.’ they get this funky email saying that “we” just published a new post on http://www.xxx.com and to click through to read it.
I want to stop these notification emails so we can aggregate three-four posts into one newsletter.
I have figured out how to stop it with “Stop Emails” By Sal Ferrarello plugin, but it stops all emails. I still need all my notices, invoices and other emails to keep going out. Now, I have to disable Sal’s plugin to let emails out and re-enable it to stop post emails. That is a pain especially when I have orders coming in at the same time as the plugin is enabled.

Hi Steve,
Yes, Jetpack is enabled on that site. I must admit that i am not well versed on all of its features. Just have never taken the time to come up to speed on it.

Hi Steve,
Thanks for this. I cannot confirm, but it does seem to turn off both the ability to subscribe and pushing new post notices. Thant actually may be okay because I use “Newsletter” as my news outlet and it has a separate subscription module.
What I cannot figure out or find is whether the user role of “Subscriber” is the only role that gets the new post push notifications. When I play around with new posts, my subscribers all get notices which irritate them. So, I have to be careful.
This post push feature goes back before Jetpack, so I am not totally sure all of the implications. There does not seem like a lot of documentation.
