How to turn off autocomplete/dropdown

I haven’t noticed anything like this, but if you could provide screenshots and a copy-paste of what WPide shows in the editor when you open it, that might help Simon to look at the issue.

This might also be resolved by disabling the color picker and function helper in the sidebar, for which we’ve requested options to be added: http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/wpide
