How to trigger something when single.php is loaded

    Greetings

    I have being using is_page_template to tigger different thinks that will affect the appearance of the currently view template. By example, if the template “template1.php” is being watched by the user I can make a custom title loads only for the page using that template. How ever I want to do the same with single.php It seems that is_page_template doesnt work with single.php how can I set that something happens when some one is watching a post? (I will define what ever should happen with advanced custom fields).
