  • Resolved Rafauke_POL

I find this plugin awesome and very helpful. To be honest it is quite indispensable due to the fact that the built-in search didn’t work from the very beginning… But I digress πŸ™‚ I would like to contribute to the project by making the translation in my language, that is, Polish. It would be both helpful for me and other authors, as it is always more comfortable to have all the Dashboard in your native language. And here comes my question: how can I translate this plugin to pl_PL? I have translated some plugins before, but most often they had a directory called ‘lang’ or ‘languages’ in which .po/.mo files were stored. I cannot find this in the plugin’s directory. If anyone could help me with this I would be very thankful πŸ™‚

Thank you for the kind words and for your generous offer to translate the plugin into Polish. Yours is the third inquiry I have had on the subject of internationalization/translation. You can find the other two topics here:

    Plugin Localization

    No files for translation

I am still trying to find the time to go back through the code and prepare it for translation, and I have not yet worked out an approach to translating the template files (in the tpls subdirectory). I would welcome any suggestions you might have on that issue.

I will continue working on this and I will keep this topic open until I have progress to report. Thank you again for keeping it on my list!

No problem πŸ™‚ I will be happy to help you as soon as you find a way to do that. The plugin fixed searching media for me and you can imagine that not having a search while having couple of thousand pics is horrible PITA to say the least. So I’m keeping my fingers crossed πŸ™‚

I have begun the localization process required to support internationalization. If you can help prepare “.po” files for languages other than English, please send me your e-mail address from the “Contact Us” page at our web site:

I have completed the internationalization work and am doing my final testing before releasing it. If you can help prepare “.po” files for languages other than English, please send me your e-mail address using the link in my earlier post. Thank you!

I have released MLA version 1.70, which includes the internationalized code, the Portable Object Template (/languages/en_US.pot) file and the Internationalization Guide (/languages/MLA Internationalization Guide.pdf). That should be everything you need to get started. I would be happy to help in any way I can, and I welcome any feedback on the source texts or any other aspect of the work.

I am marking this issue resolved, but please update it with any questions, problems or suggestions you have. Thanks again for your interest in the plugin.
