• I’m a webdesign newbie…and i just heard about wordpress this january 2011. i designed a multi site blog for tutorials on my laptop… Now, i want to host it in a live server… But i don’t know what to do in transfering it. I don’t even know if the database transfer will be possible without errors. Pls i need directions on how to move my site from my laptop’s localhost to a live server without errors in my site data or structure.
    Thank you very much… 🙂

But. Since you did MultiSite, the problem will be with your domains. If you used localhost as your URL, you’ll need to edit your whole Database to change localhost to the right domain name.

thanks alot… That answers the question… So, i guess… Its kinda useless trying to move the site? Since my permalinks are going to grow faulty…? My site has alot of links, is there a shortcut for handling that? Because its not easy, re-editing hundreds of links 🙁

And yes, there are people who do this on an almost daily basis.

If you edit your database from localhost to the domain correctly, it SHOULD take care of all the links.
