Support » Fixing WordPress » How to Transfer Everything to someone who has bought your blog?

  • Hi Guys!

I am currently selling my wordpress blog as i need to focus on another project i am running. I have a bidder on my website and whoever wins it will obviously need to get the website.

I basically need full steps on how to tranfer EVERYTHING to the buyer, im a complete newbie to selling websites and so i need any help. I contacted Godaddy(my host) and they were absolutely awful at helping me. So please help!

I need to transfer everything on the site, i dont know where to start!

    Thank you for your time,

  • You are asking the question at the wrong place!

We can’t tell you how to sell a site. Only how to create a database backup to pass onto another person. The domain name & hosting etc are nothing to do with WordPress.

This is a WP trouble shooting place. Do you have any problem with your WP?

    anyway . . .
    is the domain Name included?

Well that would certainly help a lot!

And yes the domain name is included, im not sure about hosting though.
I think Godaddy will organise the tranfer of the domain name.

Ok first for the files . . .
Take a back up of the database. Use phpmyadmin within your cpanel for this.
Then download all the files from your root folder and compress it to zip or rar

hand over both of them to the buyer.
To transfer the domain name you should unlock the domain and get the transfer code and hand over that too.

the buyer can transfer the domain to any domain registrar with the code.

Thats great help, thank you very much for your time!

    please close the tread! Welcome.
