Hi, I can’t figure out if it’s possible or not to track 404 error in TSF, and how to do it (if possible).

    Can you help me, please?

    Hello!

404 errors should not be tracked within WordPress — many sites get random requests by annoying bots that cause those errors, and there’s frankly nothing you can do to stop or fix that… so why record what the useless bots do and overfill your database with inoperable information?

    See https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/2445990:

Many (most?) 404 errors are not worth fixing because 404s don’t harm your site’s indexing or ranking.

It is only helpful to remove 404 errors if you have a live link to such pages. Google Search Console keeps track of this via its Page Indexing report. To learn more, see https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/7440203.

At the report, scroll down to “Why pages aren’t indexed,” and you should find an overview of “Not found (404)” pages. Inspect those, and you can see where Google found links leading to those 404 pages. Then, decide if you want to fix the 404 error by creating a redirect or, preferably, by removing the broken link if possible.
