[Resolved] How to switch parents?

    Hello!
I made a Sandbox’s child theme and I am near completing the whole site I am working on.
But I just realized that Sandbox is outdated as it contains deprecated PHP code.

How do I modify my child theme to have BlankSlate as parent now? I thought only modifying style.css to say “Template: BlankSlate” will allow me to begin this theme switching but all I get is a blank page. Any help here please?

You can’t generally just switch a child theme to another theme… CSS is theme/site specific, so that doesn’t usually work.

Feel free to post in the official forum:

And share your CSS and we can help you switch the IDs and classes OR just make your customization requests from scratch and we may be able to help write up some CSS.

Rest assured, BlankSlate is quickly becoming the designer’s/programmer’s #1 base/boilerplate theme for projects and we intend on supporting and improving the theme for that use indefinitely.

    Thanks

Thank you for your answers, I have managed to modify my child theme to support BlankSlate nicely now 🙂
Thank you TidyThemes, I am sure I’ll have some questions about styling and now I know where to go 🙂
