Support » Plugin: Uncanny LearnDash Toolkit » How to suppress the new line at the end of breadcrumb

  • When using the Breadcrumb I’m putting the shortcode in and after the breadcrumb I want to place some text inline. For example, if I wanted the text ” …Enjoy!” to be after the breadcrumb like this:

    Dashboard >> Course >> Lesson …Enjoy!

    But what I get when I put the shortcode + text is this:

    Dashboard >> Course >> Lesson
    …Enjoy!

    How do I suppress that new line so it is all on one line?

  • Hi Norm,

    The folks at Uncanny Owl might have a better solution, but I was able to throw together some CSS that does the trick.

    Add the following CSS to a child theme or the Additional CSS area in the WordPress Customizer:

    .sfwd-breadcrumbs,
    .breadcrumb-trail {
    	display: inline;
    }

    Then, when you use the shortcode, I recommend you switch to “Text” mode (instead of “Visual” mode) in the WordPress editor, and wrap your “…Enjoy!” in <span> tags, like this:

    [uo_breadcrumbs]<span>...Enjoy!</span>

    That will ensure that WordPress doesn’t automatically add <p> tags around your content (<p> tags would create a new line; <span> tags won’t).

    Let me know how that works out for ya.
