How to suppress “http://” in links given in commentaries

  • Hi folks,

when I insert a link like

    http://www.something.org

in a posting (=article), then the link is shown as

    http://www.something.org

However, if I do the same in any commentary, WordPress attaches the protocol in front of the URL which is then displayed as

    http://www.something.org

in the commentary’s text. For aesthetical reasons, I would prefer the short version wiethout the http:// in both postinges and commentaries. It doesn’t seem to be a matter of themes, so I obviously have to edit one of the core files to resolve the issue. Can anybody help?

Thank you very much in advance!

    Greetings from Germany,
    Ralph
