Hi,
Thanks for the kind words!
This FAQ isn’t exactly the question you’ve asked, but has a lot of relevant information; please take a look, and I think it’ll explain how the backup process works and how disk space is used: http://updraftplus.com/faqs/how-much-free-disk-space-do-i-need-to-create-a-backup/
Best wishes,
David
I have indeed limited hosting space and the backup process is being cut of leaving large files on my server which are not being deleted by updraft so I have to do everytime myself because it bumbs up my already limited space and stuffing my server. How can I make sure Updraft cleans up these left overs?
Quote:
” If your web hosting server, in order to manage resources, kills off the PHP process before it finishes, then the temporary file will remain until is cleared up manually by UpdraftPlus, once the archive is completely created, or if that happens then usually 12 hours later. This can really boost the amount of disk space you need for things to complete successfully, especially if it happens multiple times. ”
Hi,
Cleanups of stuff over 12 hours old happen when the next backup run begins.
Best wishes,
David
They dont get automatic deleted and sometimes I have multiple backups stacked up on my server.
Hi,
Please can you do this:
1) Run a new backup, and wait an hour or two
2) Then send a screenshot of still-present files that should have been automatically deleted (use http://snag.gy if it helps).
3) Also, provide a link to your log file for the just-run backup. It’ll be too long to paste into the forum here, but you can download it to your computer, and share it with Dropbox, or paste it in pastebin.com, or any similar service, and post the link here.
Best wishes,
David
