How to stop tables in pages stretching? (6 posts)

    Hi, I have created a custom table to hold the content of my page:

    I have done this by pasting the HTML code into the text box on the 'new page' panel in wordpress's dashboard. However, it seems that wordpress is changing the tables dimensions (perhaps to percent? I'm not sure) so that they stretch out as the browser size is increased or decreased. I do not want this to happen, because it skews all my content out of line. Is anybody able to advise me on how to stop worpress stretching out my table dimensions please? I would like the table dimensions to be fixed. I am pretty new to this so any clear advice would be much appreciated. Thank you. I have copied the code below:

    Please provide a link to the page with the table code, so we can see what code the page is using to override your formatting.

    I tried adding

    table { table-layout: fixed }

    to my CSS stylesheet but it didn't make any difference. Does anybody have any suggestions please? I have defined fixed dimensions for my tables in the HTML, but it seems they are being overidden.
