How To Stop Pop-Up Spam

  • Hi,

    I have a problem with a pop-up spam in my blog. Even though I set every file permission (these are theme files) not higer than 644, my blog pops up a spam site.

    How can I stop this?

    Thanks,

  • remove the webstats stuff would be my guess:

    !-- Begin Webstats4U code -->
    <!-- Title: CYON -->
    <!-- URL: http://www.cyon.org.uk/ -->
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript" src="http://m1.webstats4u.com/m.js">
    </script>
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
    <!--
    webstats4u("ADqwHA7gAaE+aL446FipmY32vR/w", 0);
    -->
    </script>
    <noscript>
    <a target="_blank" href="http://www.webstats4u.com/stats?ADqwHA7gAaE+aL446FipmY32vR/w"><img src="http://m1.webstats4u.com/n?id=ADqwHA7gAaE+aL446FipmY32vR/w" border="0" width="18" height="18" alt="Webstats4U - Free web site statistics Personal homepage website counter"></a>
    </noscript>
    <!-- End Webstats4U code -->

    I havent looked but its prolly free because they do the popup deal.

    I don’t think that’s the problem. I am using it my other websites and it is of no problem.

    i dont know, I plugged http://www.webstats4u.com/stats?ADqwHA7gAaE+aL446FipmY32vR/w
    into my browser and ff blocked a popup right off.

    Maybe thats not it though.
