    Hi everyone,

My host informed me that I used up my entire monthly allowed usage of 600000 CPU seconds of my website. They said that this was because of wp-chron. I disabled it as they recommended, but now I can’t send scheduled posts.

What can I do? Does anyone know why I am getting this CPU overage? I need to avoid this, because my website took my site offline when I exceeded this. I need to be able to use scheduled posts. What to do?

  • I would have a read of this Hostgator Article

Even if you are not on Hostgator, the principle is the same, to setup an external cron job in your hosting settings. the instructions should be similar if your host uses the cPanel interface.

Thanks! I’ve followed that guide, and I’ll see if it works by scheduling a post tonight!
