How to stop a stuck scan?

    I get
    Now scanning: (name of first plugin) 1 of 21
    and the spinner, and it never changes.

    I’ve looked at FAQ #6, “The scan is stuck, what can I do?” It gives me some information and things to look at, but doesn’t actually tell me how to fix the problem.

    WP Crontrol reports
    There was a problem spawning a call to the WP-Cron system on your site. This means WP-Cron events on your site may not work. The problem was:
    cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 3001 milliseconds with 0 bytes received
    and does not show wpephpcompat_start_test_cron in the list of cron jobs.

    The cron jobs that ARE listed do seem to get executed.

    How can I stop the current scan? How can I solve the cron issue?
