How to shrink footer background. (3 posts)

    HI there,

My original problem was that I wanted to color the background of my footer grey. I accomplished that, however it skewed all of the "menu" I had in it so I had to add some padding in the css to fix that.

The last problem that I have is that my background, for some reason, now stretches past the 960px width that the rest of the my content is established at i.e. the image slider at the top.

I was wondering if anybody had a solution to make the background aligned with my image gallery.

Please let me know if you can help,

I think the way to do what you want is to reduce the width of the element. You can add width: 94% to the rule where you add the padding. You might want to tweak the actual number.

I tried that and it did nothing, it almost looks like it made it wider. Could it be something to do with the margins or could it be a wrapper?
