How to show image first, then title/link in line with image. (16 posts)

    On my list of posts using catlist, I want to show the featured image first (on the left) then the title/link etc, to the right, but aligned with the middle of the image.

    Can this be done using shortcode?
    My current code is: [catlist name=xxxxxxxxxx orderby=title order=asc numberposts=-1]
    Adding in the thumbnail option puts the image to the right, with the words aligned with the bottom of the image.
    I want the wording center aligned to the middle of the image.

    How could you get the image to be vertically aligned?

    thumbnail_class="alignleft" aligns it left, but when there is only ONE line of text, it messes up totally, as the next image image to the right of the first image.
    I suppose that changing line spacing to be as deep as the image would work, if the text is then aligned in the middle.

    backyarder1 has it closer to what I wanted, which I did manage before, but I am wanting the post title horizontally in the middle of the image.
    These two images show what I am getting, compared to what I want (but done in a table manually)

    You mean, you want the image centered vertically (up and down) to the text, not horizontally, right? I think several of us are trying to do that. I'm sure it has to be done in a template file. I can probably figure it out today if I have time (and no one else gives us the answer). By the way, what is the code that you used to center the text in the table column?

    I almost have it figured out. Still need to dress it up a little.

    Just this standard table code:

    <table border="0">
    <tbody>
    <tr>
    <td><img alt="" src="http://www.xxxx.com/xxxe-th.jpg" /></td>
    <td class="left"><a href="http://www.xxxbeach-puerto-galera/">ABWonderdive Bed & Breakfast</a>, Small La Laguna Beach, Sabang, Puerto Galera</td>
    </tr>
    </tbody>
    </table>

    I figured out how to put the table code into a template for catlist to use. But I'm having a hard time formatting the table.

    This table at the bottom of this page was made using a catlist template:

    Well, it CAN be done. I had to use a template file AND edit my stylesheet, but it is now using catlist to display in table format.

    It looks good. Any chance of making life easy for me, and sharing your template and css edits ;)
    My brain seems to be fried at the moment, with too many other site problems, not related to this bit.

    Has anyone figured out how to get the data to display in two (or more) columns?

    You should be able to do all of that by creating a table.

    Hi backyarder, I am still trying to work out how you did it with what you put in your template and what edits you made to the css.

    Can you share the secrets ;)
