How to show first author as actual author and rest as contributors?

    I want to show ownership or give all credit to first author and all others as a contributor.

    Like

    These fine people helped write this article: Abc (Author), Xyz and 123.

    It can be done by adding something at the end of the first author or printing all authors but not the first, in this case author can be displayed native function and all other using Co-Author Plus function(excluding the actual author).

    In simple words what I want is to differentiate the actual author from the co-authors and co-author list should not contain the actual author name.

    Hi there,
    There is no native function to do that. What you can do is take the main contributor from the wp_posts.post_author table field, and then remove it from the list of coauthors the plugin returns, so that it really becomes a list of contributors rather than coauthors. This will require some custom coding though 🙂

    Can the feature suggested by divaksh please be added in this plugin?

    Perhaps a new function can be added where the first author (original author) will have its own ‘before’ parameter, and the rest of the co-authors will have their own the same ‘before’ parameter?

    So we can put like coauthors_posts_links_orig_author_plus(‘by’,….,’edited by’);

    Display: by Orig Author, edited by Someone
