    Hello,

I've started handwriting my blog (weird, I know, but that's what I'm doing). Of course this entails uploading my blog entries as images which means that google searches, google ads, my context ads, etc utterly fail because they have no text to work on.

To that end, I'd like to show the excerpt only on the main blog page. If someone is interested in reading more, then they can click on the entry title (the permalink page) or a 'read more' link of some kind, and then be shown the entire article, image and all.

    Is that possible?

    Thanks!

    Jon

Use the_excerpt() in your index.php Loop, and the_content() in your single.php temlate Loop.

    Yes, it's possible.
    1. You can add the "more" link while writing the post - where you want to break it.
    2. You can use the_excerpt template tag to replace the_content tag in your theme's index.php (a.k.a. Main template).

    Heya

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm using a single file template rather than individual files...

Is there some way I can make use of the is_single() function or something like that??
