Maybe just use a shopping cart like WooCommerce – but then on the checkout page provide ordering info?
Or you could build a custom post type/template and just do it with the Page structure.
Let me know if that makes sense…
I don’t have a specific recommendation, but every e-commerce plugin I’ve evaluated over the years has some kind of “pay by check” or “store pickup” option that allows users to browse your catalog and place a request without requiring the actual e-commerce part. You shouldn’t need any custom development just for that functionality.
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/eshop/ offers a Cash “pseudo gateway” which effectively allows you carry out the actual sale manually using whatever means you want to use.
Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I did a search with the terms “store pickup” and I found a plugin called TheCartPress. It has a feature where you can check a box and it turns your shop into a catalogue and removes the check out features, which is really cool, because, if, at some point, I want to start selling online, all I have to do is uncheck the button and … voi-la!
Looks really cool – I’ll have to check it out.
