How to set the parameters for mod_rewrite?

  • I want to open the mod_rewrite module eagerly´╝îbut my host company asked me to present full parameters of the module in order to open it. However, I couldn’t find this information. Could you please tell me the information? Thank you very much in advance!

  • If your host is running a webserver for clients and does not know what mod_rewrite is, I would suggest using a different host. mod_rewrite is extremely standard and well known.

    If they’re asking what rewrite rules you want to use, then they don’t need to know. Tell them that you want to set your own on a per directory basis using .htaccess files, and they should setup AllowOverride’s accordingly. This is the default for 99% of webhosts out there.
