Support » Fixing WordPress » How to set specific archive time for my posts?

  • I’d like posts to my blog to be archived after a specific number of hours. I’ve searched on this topic and have not found an answer… maybe it’s too obvious!

To clarify, I would like to have posts I make to my daily surf report be archived 18 hours after being posted.

Thanks in advance for any help!

  • The only question is: what do you mean by “being archived”?
By default, every post is “archived” (=stored in the DB) in the moment you saved/published them.

    hi Moshu

I would like visitors to see only entries filed in the last x hours. To see earlier posts, I’d like them to have to go to the archive for the particular day they’re interested in.

For example, I’ve just filed a surf report for this morning in Sydney. At 0200 tomorrow morning I would like that report to be available only by clicking on the link to the archive. This means that if there are no posts on a particular day, visitors will see no entries on the home page. From a visitor’s perspective the home page is wiped at 0200 every day and therefore if it’s on the home page, it’s no more than 18 hours old.

    Again, thanks for your advice!
