Support » Fixing WordPress » How to Set Absolute Path for Upload Directory

  • I like the fact that WordPress 2.02 provides the option of defining the uploads directory. This has been a sticky point for our installation which has an entirely different location for storing data that is uploaded versus code that exists on the site.

The only problem I have is that the upload option looks for the location as a subdirectory of the wordpress installation instead of allowing me to define a location that isn’t a subdirectory of the wordpress installation. In this case, I would like to set an absolute path for the upload directory instead of setting it relative to the wordpress directory.

Is this possible? How do I do it?

    Thank You,

    Jason

  • Yeah, so I am assuming that it is not in your wordpress install directory? Hmm… Before I could tell you have to change the code to make it work but I’m not sure now, with 2.2.
