Support » Plugin: WP Mail SMTP by WPForms » How to send email from Google Groups

I’m trying to setup this plugin to send email from a Google Group (i.e. shared email such as ‘sales@email.com’). When setting up the OAuth 2.0 consent, I was able to select the Google Group as the email address. And when setting up the WP Mail SMTP settings in the WordPress back-end, I set the ‘From Email’ to be the Google Group email (sales@email.com). But when I give permission to allow the plugin to send email using my google account, I can’t choose a Google Group (because it’s not an account); so I have to choose my personal account, and then when testing the email, it sends using my personal account instead of the Google Group email address.

So is there anyway to set it up so that all WordPress emails get sent by a Google Group email address?

Unfortunately, not. You may try to use Google Group email address in From email address plugin setting, but that might not work.

Actually it is possible, we figured it out. Instead of using the gmail option in the backend settings of your plugin, we used the last option (i think it’s called ‘Other SMTP’ or something like that). Then my IT guy figured out he could set up google authentication by giving the IP address of our website to Google (not sure how he did this). Then he was able to get the appropriate things to fill out the settings in the plugin settings (not sure where he found this).. But it is possible!

Yeah, using SMTP it is possible, but I was thinking about Gmail mailer, as you are obviously working with Google products.

I’m happy you figured that out!

would be nice to have tutorial for that 🙂
