    Hi,

I am looking for a solution for a plumbing company that wants to sell their services online, They charge their client hourly and when a client calls them up they calculate all the details, estimate how much time will be needed and price them accordingly.

Is there a way to do this with WooCommerce?

For example: A new sink installation takes somewhere between 20 minutes and 5 hours depending on the project details, What type of sink it is, where it is installed, hot water, cold water or both, do they currently have a sink? if they do which type of sink do they currently have etc.

The website should estimate the time needed for the project and price it accordingly.

What would be the best way to get this to work with WooCommerce?

    Thanks in advance, Martin

  • This could be done using attributes and setting up pricing based on that. The downside to this is it could be extremely time consuming based on how many attributes/variations you end up with. There are plugins out there that make updating variations easier though.

Thank you @mtruitt for the reply, Is there any plugins you would recommend using to get this done?

I have used https://codecanyon.net/item/woocommerce-bulk-edit-variable-products-prices/6822726 after the products get setup. Basically just lets you view it in a spreadsheet like format with some filtering to make finding specific products easier. It does not work with custom data at least without some modifications.

I’ve always backed up the DB prior to making changes with it just in the event something did go wrong.

    Hi there,

You could build out a form using Gravity Forms and the Gravity Forms Add-Ons Extension https://www.woocommerce.com/products/gravity-forms-add-ons/. This would allow you to build out a form that would take the customer through the various steps and selections needed for this type of complex product.

You could also build out a Composite Product https://www.woocommerce.com/products/composite-products/ that included the various fixtures in one step, the needed parts in the next, and the installation requirements in the following step. This method would require everything to be added as a product in the store and then

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
