How to secure the wp-admin folder

  • Hello,
I would like to secure the wp-admin folder with the .htaccess file, so that only the certain IP users would get access. But… the website I run has multiple authors with dynamic IPs and not all of them can access the ftp and add a correct IP everytime they want to accesss the backend.

So, I wanted to create a user/password security with the .htaccess and .htpasswd files.

But it doesn’t work. WP interprets it in a somehow wrong way. The login window appears with the CSS cut out.

My question is: is there a way to secure the wp-admin folder, so that the authors can access it? Without having to go through ftp, etc.

    Regards, Adam
