I’m running a WordPress installation on a site with legacy content from 2002, created with traditional HTML. I’ve already found out that importing thousands of pages of a mixture of HTML formats into WordPress would be pretty much impossible and/or too costly. So we decided to just leave the pre-2009 old HTML pages in place.

The only way I could think of to have a search function that would cover the old HTML pages and the new WordPress posts is Google site search, so that’s what we’re using now. It often misses old and new content, however.

    Is there a better way?
