how to search posts with multiple categories

    Hi,
    i am working in an existing wordpress site
    It uses the theme to make each post as a Accommodation listing (Theme Name: Open House)

    And while adding we can post the listing into multiple categories
    the current sample naming for the categories are
    R500-R600
    R600-R700
    R700-R800
    1 Room
    2 Room
    3 Room
    Location 1
    Location 2
    Location 3

    Also implemented a search plugin to list properties from a single category
    My doubt is how can i make it possible to search from multiple categories at a time

    at present the search result page shows like
    http://….com/?cat=34

    Is it possible to pass more than 1 variables for the category field and list commonly included listing from those categories

    Please help
