Support » Plugin: Search Everything » How to search in my own tables?

  • Resolved duagog

    Hi all,
I want to add my custom tables to the global search of my webpage.
I’ve seen in the description of the plugin this: “tags and custom fields (metadata)” and I’m wondering how to do that.

I’ve marked the option to search in custom taxonomies but it didn’t work.

Does this plugin can help me with that?.

  • Hey Dani, thanks for reaching out, I’ll gladly help!

How do you use those custom tables? As custom post types? Can we see those somehow on your blog (or were they made by some plugin or by yourself)?

Also — what the blog in question? Let us know what exactly are you trying to search for and where have you entered those queries and we’ll do our best to help you out! Any additional feedback is greatly appreciated!

Looking forward to your reply! Take care & have a nice day!

Hi Silvo, thanks for your quick response.

In fact, what I have are two tables created directly via MySql. Is in those tables where I’d like to search.

At this point WordPress didn’t know anything about my tables so I guess I have to add my custom tables/fields somewhere..

Hey Dani, thanks for getting back to me, but I’m afraid that this just isn’t possible, to be honest, since we only rely on WordPress’s search tool, which limits our plugin to some degree.

Hope you understand how this works, but this just isn’t feasible.

But do let me know if you have any more questions regarding our plugin or if you need any further assistance, since I’ll gladly do whatever we can!

Take care & have a nice rest of the day!
