How to run multisite with multiple, distinct databases for each site …

  • Does anyone know how to do this? I want to merge like ten blogs and don’t want to have them all be in one massive database but want them to each keep their own database but only be served with one set of core files.

Can we do this with the new WP 3.0 with multisite? I have been playing with it but currently only have a way to do it for new tables in one database.

  • Mostly likely not what you need but I thought I’d mention it anyways, you never know.

    Multi-DB

That won’t give each blog their own db. Well, maybe with only a small number of blogs (16) and there are free plugins that do the same.

Ten blogs in one database still is not considered huge. 🙂
