I am very disapointed with new Page Builder interface.
How can I revert to classic editor by default ? (and not only for new posts)

    Hi JP

Thanks for reaching out. The easiest would be to install the Classic Editor plugin from Plugins > Add New, use the search bar top right to search for “Classic Editor”.

I do not understand, “Classic editor” is already installed as it is used when creating a new page.

Why just after saving the new page, the editor is switching to another graphical interface which I do not like ?

How to avoid activating this other graphical interface ?

If no Page Builder data is added to a new page before saving, the page will revert to the Block Editor. To avoid this, either add Page Builder data before saving or install the Classic Editor plugin. If you go to Plugins, I think you’ll find it isn’t installed. Hope that helps.

    Thanks a lot,

I did not capture the Block Editor was a new feature of WordPress 5.0.

I did install Classic Editor plugin.

Super, glad to hear you’ve made progress. If any questions arise in the future, please let us know 🙂

    Hi there.

I’m very happy that the WordPress page & post edit screens are getting a new look however the website I am working on utilises a heavily modified classic editor that have been developed over many years. I simply don’t have enough dev power to change all the additional functionality to support a new editor therefore are forced to stick to the WordPress 4.x I guess.

I’ve noticed that the ‘classic’ editor is still used on all custom post types anyway, so I was wondering if there is a trick to bring it back to the post & page editing screens with a simple switch, without any additional plugins.

    Many thanks

After posting that I’ve downloaded the plugins and realised that this is more complex, so probably the classic editor plugin is the best bet.

I have Classic Editor plugin installed and activated. however, it does not appear. Instead it shows:

    Add Media
b i link b-quote del ins img ul ol li code more close tags.

How doe I get the Classic Editor to show?

    Hi @tdehan

Thanks for posting, please open a new support topic, we’d be happy to lend a hand.

I was trying to start a new topic, however, I don’t see anyway to start a new topic. How does I do this please?

No fault of yours, it isn’t clear. At the link I shared above, please scroll down to the bottom of the page, you’ll find the form there. Chat in a bit.
