UpdraftPlus Backup and Restoration
[resolved] How to restore? (6 posts)

I had an unusual situation where I forgot to renew the domain name and the site was turned off. We have Godaddy for WordPress hosting.

I was able to pay a service charge and get my files restored. The database was restored to a separate location.
I also do have Updraftplus backups from 6/8 on dropbox, which are current enough (I haven't written new posts in a few months)

I'm not sure how to restore my wordpress to get it running again. I'm not a WP guru at all and haven't had to deal with anything like this before.

I'd appreciate any info on how to get WP back up how it used to be.

    Thanks for any help!

OK, with some digging around I was able to get back up without having to restore from an updraft backup.

    Hi,

Glad you got it resolved. If you need to restore again from an UpdraftPlus backup, then the documentation in the FAQs is the best place to begin looking: http://updraftplus.com/support/frequently-asked-questions/

    Best wishes,

    Got it. Is it public_html/wp-content/updraft?

Yes - it is updraft in your WP content folder, which by default is wp-content. The public_html is where you have installed WordPress.
