  • I’m attempting to migrate my html site (4K pages) over to WordPress. I setup WP locally on my computer and I’m running into issues with modifying everything to fit my current URL structure. I’m trying to figure out how to either remove the “uncategorized” category or just remove the slug so it does not show up in the URL.

About 2K of my pages are off of the root domain like this:

The other areas of my site are contained in about 8-10 different folders like this:

I have downloaded numerous plugins which did not work. This is exactly what I’m attempting to do:

I also edited the “Custom Structure” in Permalink Settings and removed “category”. This works great for the root domain URLs but it then will not show my other folders (“folder1, folder2”).

I would like to keep the URL structure exactly the same for the conversion. This is to avoid any issues with SEO along with needing to deal with tons of 301 redirects or mod_rewrites.

Thanks for any help and feedback!
