    Make a Child Theme of 2010 and delete the different instances of comment code in page templates and the loop files, i.e. remove

    <?php comments_popup_link( __( 'Leave a comment', 'twentyten' ), __( '1 Comment', 'twentyten' ), __( '% Comments', 'twentyten' ) ); ?>

    Thank you but is there anyway to do it without having to create a child theme? I am not familiar with it and I don’t want to damage her site.
    Thanks in advance

    try

    dashboard – posts – all postsquickedit below each post title – untick ‘allow comments’

    same for pages.
