Support » Plugin: WooCommerce » How to remove the extra step?

  • Resolved Makway

    (@makway)

Having chosen the goods, having entered all the necessary data for payment, the visitor clicks on the “confirm order” button. After that gets to the page where he must again click on the “pay” button (or refuse to pay). And only after that the system sends to the page of the payment gateway.
In general, you need to remove this extra step. So that immediately after clicking on the “confirm order” button, it is transferred to the payment gateway page.

Hi @makway – I’ve had a look at your site, and there are two things that might affect this extra step being added:

    • Your theme (I see that’s adding a few steps)
    • Your payment gateway

Which theme and payment gateway are you using? You might want to find help from their developers given that this isn’t a thing connected to WooCommerce core.

It turns out very interesting! 🙂
No one wants to take responsibility.
In support of my theme they said that they have nothing to do with, the payment gateway is to blame.
In support of the payment gateway, they said that they, too, have nothing to do with Woocommerce.
Now you say that you have nothing to do with it either. 🙂
I do not know who to contact.
I tried to install the standard theme Storefront. The problem remains.
Now I use the payment gateway – https://www.interkassa.com
I tried to use – https://www.robokassa.ru/ru/, but the problem persists.

Let me approach it differently. This is what I see when using Storefront and Stripe or PayPal Checkout:

    Stripe:

    PayPal:

That’s just with WooCommerce and Storefront. Basically, there’s no “confirm order” in there, so something on your site (your theme or another plugin) is adding this step.

I did not understand what you want to say. Sorry, my english is bad.
    On my site:
    First step – https://yadi.sk/i/RkyGbzg5WuqYqw
    Second step – https://yadi.sk/i/dF-KeGeFIVL12g
The second step is superfluous. I want to remove it.

I understood. So the payment gateway is to blame ((((

With only WooCommerce Core there are 2 steps:

    1. Cart
    2. Checkout

Your site has 3 steps, so that’s not part of WooCommerce core. I’m not 100% sure if I’m understanding the request correctly given that the site is in a language I don’t speak. If you want to skip the “cart” step, you might want to have a look at some tutorials on how to do that. Here are some examples:

Hey, sorry this is taking so long. The screenshots help, but I’m still not 100% sure what they all say because I don’t understand Russian.

So let’s approach it another way – this is what the process at WooCommerce typically looks like:

Step 1: Add product to cart

    Link to image: http://cld.wthms.co/XcxYMU

Step 2: Review cart and proceed to checkout

Step 3: Add billing/shipping details and pay for the order

You can skip step 2 with the approaches that I’ve described higher above. Alternatively, you could have a look at One Page Checkout.

If step 3 you mention doesn’t correspond with the steps 1-3 that I list here, it’s either your payment gateway or your theme that is adding an extra step.

    Makway

    (@makway)

You have just described three steps on your site.
If you click on the button “Place order” will be the fourth step. Please send a screenshot of the fourth step page. On my website this is the third step.

If I click “Place order” it’ll just show the order confirmed screen, which is the case with these payment gateways: Stripe, cash on delivery, cheque, transfer. With PayPal, it’d take me to the PayPal website.

This is the step right after “Place order” while using Stripe:

Can you send a screenshot of the whole page? Is there another button that you need to click to go to the page of the payment system?

    Makway

    (@makway)

I want to skip the order confirmation page. So that the user immediately went to the page of the payment system. This is the fourth step on your website. On my third step.

The order confirmation page is after the payment stage. You simply cannot have an order confirmation (which is confirming that everything has been paid before) before you proceed the payment.

You can’t skip that as you need to point the customer somewhere when the whole process is done.

    Makway

    (@makway)

I do not quite understand you. Let me send the rest of the steps in the screenshots.

    In steps:
    1. https://shop-landing-page.ru/shop
    https://yadi.sk/i/DLht7cYlakjmlg
    2. https://shop-landing-page.ru/checkout
    https://yadi.sk/i/Dq5Ii_Pl3HwmVA
    3. https://shop-landing-page.ru/checkout?key=wc_order_5bebef59bc71d&order=391
    https://yadi.sk/i/WGtAE9YGlglmvA
I want to remove the third step.
    4. https://yadi.sk/i/tndLxIZaDK-UZQ
After the third step I turn to the page of the payment system.
    5. https://yadi.sk/i/_zIrzYGbr6K3DA
I am going back to my site.

In the third step, the user only needs to click on the “pay” button. It’s obvious. This action is not required. The third step is not needed.
