How to remove the date from google’s rich snippets?

    Hello,

    When I create a review of some service and post it, Google then indexes it within a few days. WP Product review plugin then also provides the rich snippets for google(rating, author, etc.). But it also shows the date of when the post was created.

    I want it not to show the post creation date within the google search results. I have also installed the plugin called “Date Exclusion SEO” which was supposed to do that, however, the dates are still there. WP Product review must be providing the dates to google. How do I remove that?

    Hello, what is your website’s URL? Could you please show us a screenshot of the google snippet so we could have a look?

    Post publish date is usually controlled by your theme or a plugin such as Yoast SEO.

    I doubt that plugin works, just look at their support section and reviews. Also, I don’t mind dates showing on my posts, I want them NOT to show in the SERPs (structured data or rich snippets or whatever you want to call it) – The date when you search on google. I want that to be gone.
    Additional info: I use ColorMag theme and All In One SEO plugin.

    All in one SEO plugin has the option to use noindex for Date archives. Go to your plugin setting and check this option.

    I’ve always had this checked and the dates still appear in google… So it can’t be All in one SEO. Now it’s left up to either ColorMag theme or the WP Product review plugin.

    I will try. I do believe it’s either WP Product Review or ColorMag. I’ve dug some of my old posts when I had a different theme and no WP Product Review plugin and the dates aren’t shown with google.

    This is most likely a feature of the theme, it’s not really an “issue”, showing the post date in SERP is a common feature of magazine/news type themes.
