 * I use [http://gtmetrix.com/](http://gtmetrix.com/) to help my website’s performance.
   There are some suggestions like:
    Remove the query string and encode the parameters
   into the URL for the following resources: [http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/webfont/1.4.7/webfont.js?ver=3.8.1](http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/webfont/1.4.7/webfont.js?ver=3.8.1)
   Please advise how to do it!
 * I’ve tried [http://www.sharepointjohn.com/wordpress-remove-version-query-strings-from-javascript-js-and-css-stylesheet-files/](http://www.sharepointjohn.com/wordpress-remove-version-query-strings-from-javascript-js-and-css-stylesheet-files/)
   but it didn’t work.
 * Thank you.

 * Changing that won’t make any difference to your sites performance. If I’m right,
   it might actually make it slower (slightly) if you do remove the query string.
 * The Google CDN uses that query string to determine the version to deliver, so
   if it’s set their system knows what to get. if it’s not set then the system needs
   to determine which one it should send. That’s all it’s there for. Leaving the
   version in is a good thing in this case.
 * This is a bit of an example that not every automated tool gives the best advice.

 * catacaustic,
    THANK YOU so much for your response!
 * You actually answered to an other question, which was bothered me:
    If this strings
   are “so bad” why the software developers are putting them in 😀
 * I like your answer and I never will afraid to see the red warning of this tool.
 * Have a great day 🙂
 * BDW, I love your avatar 😀
