How to remove "Show all posts under..." from menu mouseover? (5 posts)

    Greetings all,

    How do I remove the tool tips from appearing on my menus? For example, the "Show all posts under..." on the categories menu. I understand the issues with accessibly and all that, but they are reaping havoc on my otherwise nice looking drop-down menus.

    I found where one person asked over at Elegant Themes, thinking as I did that it had to do with the theme. But the reply was as follows:

    Honestly I am not sure how to change this. The links are not hard coded, but are instead generated via the wodpress function wp_list_cats/wp_list_categories. Without editing the function itself I don't think there is a way to remove title tags.

    I'm using WordPress 3.1 and cannot find wp_list_cats or wp_list_categories. I'm assuming he's referring to an older version of WordPress, and that the functions are now located in some other files.

    Please, which files should I be looking for? and what should I remove to get rid of the tool tip thingies?

    Thanks :)

    While I do not have the direct answer, creating those menus using Appearance -> Menus did the trick for me. :-)

    Adding this to my themes functions.php file seemed to work for page and category title attributes in the sidebar. It also removed them from the main menu.

    function ft_rtt_remove_title_attribute( $output ){
    $output = preg_replace('/title=\"(.*?)\"/','',$output);
    return $output;
