How to remove RSS post/blog text from sidebar?

  • Hi everyone,

    I want my RSS feed to give an entire blog post so people who use a reader don’t have to do extra clicking. By setting it up this way, though, the first few sentences of the blog post are displayed in the sidebar on my website and this looks really sloppy. Does anyone know how I can have the RSS feed give access to the whole post but not display part of it on my sidebar?

    You can see what I’m talking about here: http://www.ethanbodnaruk.com

    Thanks so much for your help!
    Ethan

  • Add this to your child theme stylesheet:

    .rssSummary {
        max-height: 40px;
        overflow: hidden;
    }

    Adjust the max-height to display only what you want to display.

    You have an interesting website (and the FSM!). You should add an RSS icon at the top to make it easier for people to follow you. (The RSS link in the sidebar links to your site, not to your feed.)

    Thanks so much kjodle, both for the help and the compliment. You gotta love the FSM, right? Especially that pic…had me laughing for a while when I first saw it.

    I will try to figure out how to put the RSS icon at the top! Been busy wrapping up a new post on my site!

    Thanks so much!!
    Ethan
