• I’m trying to get back on using wordpress after several years and I’m in chock of how different it is now.

My main page shows my posts with a “read more” link. I tried to unmark “read more” from the settings, but it doesn’t change anything. How to do I remove the link so my main page shows the entire post without having to click on it?

Thanks for the attention and help.

So your question is not really about removing the “read more” text in post excerpts, but how to display the full post (instead of the excerpt) — as you CAN get rid of the “read more” text while still showing only the post excerpts.

This is 100% controlled by your chosen theme, and not WordPress.
