    Good day,

I have had the Powerpress plugin for a number of weeks and have so far been satisfied with it’s functionality with connecting Blubrry to my WordPress website. However one security concern I have noticed is that despite locking down contributors permissions to only be able to add a new post, they still have the Podcasting widget display at the bottom of the add new post editing page. This is a security concern in my mind as I only want admin users to be able to upload to the Blubrry servers.

Please can you let me know if there is a way of either hiding this widget from non-admin users with a plugin, functions.php or any other method?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello @wfieldhouse,

By default anyone who has post edit capability can also have podcasting capability can also podcast. You can change this when in advanced mode.

What you seek is to enable “User Capabilities” in PowerPress. Go to PowerPress > Tools menu, and select “Add PowerPress Podcasting Capabilities for User Role Management”. This will enable a new “Podcasting” capability. You would then use a roles and capabilities plugin and add the “podcasting” capability to the “roles” that you assign to users. I assume you are managing who has access to what using roles and capabilities. If this is not the case please reply and I can try to explain it briefly as well as recommend some plugins.

    Thanks,
    Angelo
