The sitemap includes “post-archive-sitemap.xml” with zero posts, which shows as an error in SEMRush. How can we fix or remove this listing? Thanks.

    Hi @supernaut510,

Could you please go to All in One SEO > Sitemaps > General Sitemap and disable the checkbox for Include All Post Types under Sitemap Settings?

Once you’ve done that, please select the post types that are available on your site and have at least one post.

Let me know if that fixes the issue.

We don’t want to remove Posts, only the Posts Archive link, since it appears to be an empty sitemap and gives a 404 error. Why is AIO SEO creating an empty sitemap?

    Hi @supernaut510 ,

The steps I’ve mentioned above will not remove Posts from your sitemap. Unchecking that checkbox will further allow you to select which post types you want to keep in your XML sitemap.

Once you uncheck the checkbox for Include All Post Types , that blank sitemap index should go away.

Your site appears to have an empty post type, which is why you’re getting that blank index. I’ve opened an internal issue to avoid generating that index, and it will be included in one of our upcoming releases.

Please let me know what you find.

Thanks. I didn’t understand that there was a bug that would generate a sitemap for unused post types if “all” was selected. As you mentioned, if you select the post types individually, the empty sitemap does go away. Thank you!
