Support » Plugin: Simple Calendar - Google Calendar Plugin » How to remove gce-event-day divs?

  • Resolved chuckzee

    Previously the plugin would list events together in such a way that I could style them as a group together, and it made for some nice layouts. The plugin now separates events into the .gce-event-day divs, which breaks these layouts. How can I stop the plugin from grouping them together like this? I don’t need the day-by-day grouping.

    For now, I’ve edited the plug in and removed where it creates the div – but I was hoping for a solution that wouldn’t break every time I update the plug in.

    For the record, this is where I removed the <div class=”gce-event-day”> </div> bits.

    if ( $day_markup != '' ) {
    				$markup .= '' . $day_markup . '';

    Glad you found a solution for now.

    Another option would be to update your CSS to reflect the class changes. I think you should still have pretty good control over the styling even with the new setup (vs the old one). This way you won’t have to worry when you update the plugin as well 🙂

    Thanks for the feedback!

    The issue is pretty specific – let’s say I have a ‘table’ layout, four cells in two rows. I pull four events, but the fourth one is on a different day. There’s no way to make it inline with the third event, so it breaks to the next line – because divs etc are rectangles.

    I’m not entirely sure of your markup changes or css stylesheet, but have you tried assigning the div a display: table-cell (or other table element) property? Alternatively you could look up for CSS pseudo selectors:

    I had the same issue as chuckzee. Followed his lead to remove the day markup. I need it output one event for each day without grouping. Thanks for the help.
