  • Here’s a great tutorial by Bill Erickson on how to move your WordPress site. In order to fix the broken links, you will need to run some queries on your database replacing your old site address with your new one.

Thanks David, this is exactly what I did, which is probably why I’m in this situation. “First, what not to do: Don’t use WordPress’ Export tool (Tools > Export, from the WordPress Administration area). This often results in lost content and images that don’t work – they get put in the wrong uploads subfolder, making them not show up on your site.”
Should I start over again or try to run the queries you mentioned?

i use this plugin a lot when transferring sites:
    – it does mysql seach and replace
    – so you can replace your content or guids as in /oldsite/wp-content/ to /newsite/wp-content/

a backup tool is handy too when doing this kind of stuff

    good luck
