How to reinstall word press in cpanel ?

  • Dear All,

    Due to a plugin I reinstalling my Word Pres. I am getting error message

    (path=”/home/________/public_html/”).You must manually remove these files before proceeding with auto-installation:
    wp-admin
    wp-content
    wp-includes

    I tried all ways to delete but not able to. Kindly provide any solution so my Word press can be installed.

  • Did you check file and directory permissions? http://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_File_Permissions

    Make sure that these are set with permissions that will allow you to delete them. However, if you are simply reinstalling WordPress, do so manually not through Cpanel (FTP) and you will not have to remove the directories.

    In the future, disable the Plugin before you start tearing your site apart as it will save a lot of time and trouble. I know this is painful, but it didn’t have to be.
