My ISP is having timeout problems with its servers. While updating the NextGen Gallery plugin, it timed out, which corrupted it. WordPress came to say it deactivated the plugin. Reactivating was not an option. Reinstalling fails, with the following error message: Installation failed: <?xml version=”1.0″ encoding=”ISO-8859-1″?> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC “-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN” “http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd”> Server error! <!–/*–><![CDATA[/*><!–*/ body { color: #000000; background-color: #FFFFFF; } a:link { color: #0000CC; } p, address {margin-left: 3em;} span {font-size: smaller;} /*]]>*/–> Server error! The server encountered an internal error and was unable to complete your request. Error message: Premature end of script headers: admin-ajax.php If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster. Error 500 http://www.divinemysteries.info Wed Dec 4 06:38:06 2019 Apache
What can I do? What, if anything, has to be physically removed before I can reinstall?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hi @mlamiroy,

Yes, I would first of all completely remove “nextgen-gallery” folder from “wp-content/plugins” to make sure that there isn’t anything left from the broken installation

Once done, I would check with my hosting support to ensure that the following requirements are met https://www.imagely.com/docs/requirements/

After this, I would try to install the plugin’s files by FTP by uploading the unzipped nextgen-gallery plugin by FTP to “wp-content/plugins” ( and activate it from ‘Dashboard -> Plugins’ ) in case that the Dashboard upload issue will persist.
