Support » Theme: Storefront » How to reduce the space in header between logo and navigation menu?

  • Resolved boppar

    I want to reduce space in the header. The space between the logo and the navigation menu

    Picture explains what I want to do:

    Is this possible?

    I’ve read in the forum about similar problems where there were recommendations of changing the header height but it didn’t work for me.

  • Hi @boppar

    We’ll still need to see your site in order to be able to help — we can’t give you code support based on a screenshot.

    If you do not want to share your live site, you may want to set up a staging site that is a copy of your live site. You can then remove all the content you don’t want to share, but keep the menu in place so we can see what can be done to fix the spacing.

    If you don’t already have a staging site set up, check with your hosting company as many offer this as part of their packages. Otherwise, you can use a free plugin such as WP Staging to set one up.

    The temporary url where I’m working in the site is:

    That site looks a little different than what’s showing in the screenshot.

    In the site, the menu does not have much space below it and in the screenshot, it has a lot more space.

    Having said that, you can use this CSS code to change the spacing:

    #mega-menu-wrap-primary {
      margin-top: 0;
    .site-header-cart .cart-contents {
      padding-top: 5px;
      padding-bottom: 20px;

    Play around a bit with the different values in there, so you can get the spacing you like.

    Sorry, a very long day, I messed up and put the wrong image in the first post. Now it’s the correct one.

    To reduce that top space, you can indeed use the code I gave you above.

    I just tried your code. It worked perfectly, just like magic!
    Thanks a lot!
